Description
Daivobet ointment contains two active ingredients, betamethasone and Calcipotriol. In psoriasis, the scaling and thickening of the skin and the appearance of raised plaques are the result of excessive skin cell production. Calcipotriol reduces the excessive skin cell production and promotes normal skin cell growth. This helps flatten and clear the psoriasis plaques. Using this medicine will improve your skin gradually over time, with maximum improvement taking up to 12 weeks of treatment.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
- acne or oily skin.
- burning and itching of skin with pinhead-sized red blisters.
- delayed healing of skin wounds.
- eye irritation.
- flushing.
- folliculitis (tiny skin rashes with pimply appearance around the hair roots)
- hair loss.
- headache.
